Selis /ˈse.lis/ — from the Ancient Greek σελίς (selís), "page, column of writing," the root of the modern Greek σελίδα ("page").
A private, day-by-day notes app
Write it down in a second. Read it on every device. Read by no one but you.
Every day gets its own list. Capture with a global hotkey from anywhere, and if you turn on sync, every device you own gets the update instantly — encrypted before it ever leaves your device, so not even we can read it.

Write it down without switching apps.
⌘⌥; opens a small field over whatever's on your screen — a call, a browser tab, anything. Type, hit Enter, and you're back to what you were doing. It's the fastest way we could make "don't forget this."
The first time you use it, macOS will ask for Accessibility access — that's what lets the shortcut work while another app is focused, the same permission category Raycast, Alfred, or Rectangle ask for. It's used for that shortcut only; nothing else you type is read, logged, or sent anywhere.
Sync & live updates
Every device, updated the moment something changes.
Sign in on your phone, your laptop, wherever — turn sync on once and they all stay current. There's no "check back in a few minutes": the moment you add or finish a note on one device, the others get a push and update right away.
Zero-knowledge encryption
We store your notes. We can't read them.
Turn on sync and Selis encrypts every note on your device, using a key derived from a master password only you know, before anything is sent. Our server only ever receives ciphertext — there's no way for us to decrypt it, by design, not by policy.
Works offline
The free tier isn't a limited trial — it's the whole app, local.
No account, no server, no connection required. Notes live in a local database on your device from the moment you install. Turn on sync later if you want it — you're never required to.
Also in the box

FAQ
Questions people actually ask
I'm on Free and I upgrade to Pro — what happens to my notes?
Nothing is lost. The notes already on your device are uploaded and merged into your new synced account, alongside anything from any other device you sign in on. Nothing gets deleted or overwritten — it's all combined into one account.
I'm on Pro and I cancel — what happens to my notes?
Your notes stay exactly where they are. Your device keeps its local copy, and your already-synced notes stay safely stored, encrypted, on our server. What stops is new syncing and live updates across devices — pick Pro back up later and it picks up right where it left off.
What if I forget my master password?
There's no "forgot password" flow for it, on purpose. Selis is zero-knowledge by design — your master password never leaves your device, so we genuinely cannot see it or reset it. That's also exactly what makes it possible for us to promise we can't read your notes. If it's lost, the notes it protected can't be recovered, by us or anyone else.
How do you use my Google/Apple sign-in details?
We never sell your information, to anyone. Signing in only gives us your email and an account ID, and we use it for exactly three things: identifying your account, letting you sign in on another device, and emailing you if something needs your attention. That's it.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. "Start Fresh" in Sync settings permanently deletes your synced notes and encryption setup from our server and every device signed in — no trace left behind. Uninstalling the app removes everything stored locally.
